SOMATIC OR CLINICAL DEATH – state of the body
in which there is complete, persistent and
continues cessation of the vital functions of the
brain, heart and lungs which maintain life and
health.
SOURCE – a person who for any reason submits
information of intelligence interest usually on a
voluntary basis
SPALLING – chipping or pitting of concrete or
masonry surfaces.
SPAN OF CONTROL – is the maximum number of
subordinates at a given position that superior can
supervise effectively. The control of a supervisor
over personnel or units shall not mean more than
what he can effectively direct and coordinate.
SPECIAL DUTY – the police service, its nature, which
requires that the officer be excused from the
performance of his active regular duty.
SPECIAL EMPLOYEE –are those informants who are
of a specific operational nature
SPECIAL INFORMANT – those who gives
information concerning specialized cases only and
it is regarded a special treatment by the operatives
(ex. teachers, businessmen)
SPECIAL OPERATION PROCEDURES – certain
special operations also necessitate the preparation
of procedures as guides. Included are the
operation of the special unit charged with the
searching and preservation of physical evidence at
