CANNELLURES – serrated grooves that are
sometimes found rolled into the neck and bodies of
the cases at the location of the bullet bases to
prevent the bullets from being pushed back of
loosened.
CAPITAL OFFENSE – a very serious crime, for which

CAPITAL PUNISHMENT - the most severe of all
sentences, that of death. Also known as the death
penalty.
CAPLACK – used by muzzle loading guns whose
ignition system employs a percussion, a small
thimble like metal cap containing a denoting
mixture.
CARBINE – a short barrel rifle, having a barrel not
longer than 22 inches, designed to fire a single shot
through a rifled – bore, either semi-automatic or
full automatic, for every press of the trigger.
CARBON BLACK – formed by the incomplete
combustion of acetylene.
CARDINAL DE RICHELIEU - was a French
clergyman, nobleman, and statesman. He was
consecrated as a bishop in 1607. He soon rose in
both the Catholic Church and the French
government. He introduced the network of covert
collectors who transmitted prompt and accurate
information to Paris regarding the activities of the
rebels and dissidents of the kingdom.
