Pat Younge
Managing Director/Founder of Sugar Films
Media executive Pat Younge is a television veteran. In a Media, Publishing& Entertainment
career which has spanned more than 25 years, he has held
senior positions which made him one of the most influential
black voices in the industry.
In 2015 he co-founded start-up Sugar Films alongside
Kwadjo Dajan, Nav Raman, Narinder Minhas and Lucy
Pilkington.
Sugar Films is a 360° media company, based in London
and Cardiff, focused on integrating television content,
digital production and creative solutions to create original
content that reflects the changing demands of modern
audiences. The company aims to create the next generation
of returnable formats, impactful dramas and innovative
factual entertainment and documentary series that will
resonate with global audiences. In March 2016 it was
announced that Sky had won a successful bid to take a
minority stake in the company.
Recent productions include the critically acclaimed
BBC2 documentary Bill Cosby: Downfall of an American
Icon, while forthcoming films include one on first cousin
marriage for BBC3 and another on the crisis in white
America for Channel 4.
For four years from January 2010, Pat was Chief Creative
Officer of the BBC, one of the most senior positions at the

In 2015, she helped lead Bloomberg Europe team’s
coverage of the takeover battle for France’s Alstom by
General Electric. Bloomberg broke the exclusive on a story

for more than a year. Her team has also produced memorable
investigative stories on companies from Wal-Mart to Takata,
major trading scandals and key personalities such as the
Rothschild family.
In her early days at Bloomberg, Jackie covered European
consumer goods – including luxury companies LVMH
and Hermes – to investment banking and mergers and
acquisitions. In 2009 she was appointed managing editor for
companies and, in 2015, landed her current role of executive
editor, where she works from London across three time
zones – Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Jackie was a finalist for the prestigious Gerald Loeb award
in 2009 for her coverage with the Bloomberg finance team
of the European banking crisis, and featured in the 2002
book Best Business Stories of the Year for documenting the
challenges facing asset management giant Lazard.
