Dr Kathryn Nwajiaku-Dahou
Director, Development Results; Head of Politics, Law & Religion
International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and
Statebuilding Secretariat, OECD
Political scientist Kathryn is co-director of the Paris-based
consultancy Development Results, which was established
in 2013 to advise governments and aid agencies on how to
promote growth with equity in Africa.
She is also Head of International Dialogue on
Peacebuilding and Statebuilding at the Organisation for
Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and is
a recognised expert on conflict, peace-building and the
extractive industries in fragile states.
After five years at the OECD, Kathryn decided to “branch
out” in February 2019. She currently chairs the Expert
Working Group of the International Commission on Oil
and the Environment Commission, which investigates
oil-related pollution.
Kathryn is also coordinating the ‘Scale up Investment for
Peace Initiative’ which convenes institutional investors, aid
agencies, governments, private sectors and civil societies
of fragile states, to collectively find innovative financial
solutions to grow businesses in ways that consolidate peace.
In addition to providing short-term consultancy advice to
both the public and private sector, she is also working on a
book on extractives and conflict in Nigeria.
Kathryn holds a PhD in Politics from Oxford and has acted

In September 2018, he accompanied then Prime Minister
Theresa May on her trade mission to Africa – the only lawyer
to be invited as a delegate on the trip. In November of the
same year, Joshua was appointed to the PM’s UK-Africa
FinTech Investment Advisory Group. In June 2019, he was
appointed to the Global Britain Sub Group of the UK Board
of Trade, promoting the UK’s global trade and investment
agenda, with a focus on Africa.
A graduate of King’s College, London, he is responsible
for expanding White & Chase’s reach in Africa, ensuring it is
the go-to law firm for governments and the private sector.
Joshua, who carries dual Ghanaian and British
nationality, has extensive knowledge of African markets,
having worked on key deals across the continent.
In June 2017, he received the Professional of the Year prize
at the Ghana United Kingdom-based Achievement Awards.
Joshua runs a mentorship programme, supporting more
than 50 secondary school students from state schools in
London and encouraging them to pursue career paths such
as law, medicine and banking.
