PROMOTIONS AT THE DC
Congratulations!
Carmen Calderon is the new Human Resources Generalist at the Melrose Park Distribution Center. She
began her career with Jewel-Osco as a retail business intern while in college and after graduation accepted a job as
an Osco Management Trainee in 2008. Carmen received promotions to Assistant Manager and Assistant Store
Director in multiple locations and following those roles accepted the position of Associate Relations Representative .
Carmen returned to Operations in 2013 and was a Food and Drug Assistant Store Director for several
stores. Carmen graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Business Administration.
David Haynes has been promoted to Transportation Supervisor at building K. David started at Jewel as clerk in 2010
while attending school. He moved through various roles in the store, such as cashier and produce clerk. In 2016
David was a Supply Chain intern for us in Melrose Park rotating through the various departments on the complex.
Most recently David was a Supply Chain Trainee where he had exposure to FFC, Dry Grocery, Transportation, Building
and Facility Maintenance and Procurement. David received his Bachelor Degree from Northern Illinois University
Mark Miller has accepted the role of Produce Buyer. He began with the company as a clerk and spent the last 12 years in the
produce department, working his way up to second person in produce. In 2013 Mark became a perishable manager where he held
that role in four locations throughout the city of Chicago and most recently #3461 Arlington Heights.
Chuck Oliver is Warehouse Supervisor at the Melrose Park Distribution Center. He began his career at Jewel-Osco as a
Communication Specialist/Security Officer and was promoted to Assistant Security Supervisor in 1990, where he honed his skills on
electronic security systems. In 1995 Chuck began an assignment on the American Drug Stores side of the business as a Systems
Coordinator where he was a as liaison with outside alarm system contractors for drug store locations nationwide including central
station monitoring vendors. Chuck returned to Melrose Park in 1997 as a Security Supervisor until his promotion.
