                                       F-T Clerk
                                   #3451 Barrington

Jim Fornelli began his 50 year career in 1967 as a bagger in Chicago on Irving Park Road back when customers returned bottles. Shortly thereafter he moved to
Produce, full-time as second man. “In 1971 I was drafted into the U.S. Army where I served 2 years. A few days after returning home Jewel-Osco was calling
to see when I could return to work and I was grateful to be able to return to a job that was familiar.” He soon became Produce Manager followed by Grocery
Manager but decided to return to Produce as a Perishable Manager. “I helped open several stores including 4250 Lincoln Ave, a true success and one of my all
time favorite stores.” Jim also considers one of his greatest achievements to be the opening of the first Kosher store #3459 Highland Park. “I was able to work
closely with rabbis, learn all about the Jewish culture and manage two shops in one.”

Other stores where Jim has worked include 7521 Lake Forrest, 5430 Chicago Ave, 4234 Montrose Ave, 1210 Clark St, 79 Buffalo Grove, 5343 Broadway Ave, 3405
Gurnee, 1710 Grand Ave, 944 Elmhurst, 7335 Darien, 20 Elk Grove, 5667 Niles, and 1600 Elgin.

“I have been around to see the company change hands several times and I’m glad to be around today to see Albertsons fighting competition with remodels
and winning sales ads. Jewel-Osco continues to be a great place to work.”

In his free time Jim loves to ride his bicycle and is involved with the Elks, VFW, American Legion and Italian clubs.

“I love the art of selling produce and plan to keep working for Jewel-Osco as long as I wake up feeling excited about going to work.”
