This technique helps practitioners come
out of mental suffering. It is non-sectarian
and is suitable to all people regardless of
religion, gender, race or nationality. Before
applying for a course you should read and
accept the code of discipline which
explains what Vipassana is and is not, and
what is expected of you when attending a
course, which is a serious undertaking.
I have done 2 x 10 day meditation retreat at this place in Queensland near Pomona. It was THE most rewarding thing I have EVER done. And, the most challenging.
It has been used successfully in schools
and also in jails to transform hardened
criminals into better human beings.
Vipassana is a way of self-transformation
through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self- exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.
The scientific laws that operate one's thoughts, feelings, judgements and sensations become clear. Through direct experience, the nature of how one grows or regresses, how one produces suffering or frees oneself from suffering is understood. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non- delusion, self-control and peace.
There are Vipassana meditation centres all over the world. The course is absolutely FREE to not pollute the technique with money and the obligations that come with it. After you finish the course and get benefit from it, you can then donate money to help others take the course.
