A room in a house that belongs to an older person.

My grandpa's room is a unique, yet comforting place. It has rare things, which makes the room feel like a

museum. He likes spending his day in his room, because stuff in it reminds of his memories from decades
ago. The design is not similar to modern rooms.

The pictures on the walls, taken in black and white by vintage cameras, might catch your attention in
the first place. His marriage pictures, and pictures with his wife, kissing at their wedding, sitting on the

floor watching sunset, casually herding their sheep, riding horse together, holding mom in their arms, are

enchanting to see.

Those pictures contain my grandpa’s memories and an image of how life was like in the 70s.

He stores his principal belongings in three antique wooden boxes, such as jewelry, old clothes, tobacco

pipes, and the belongings of his wife. His marriage ring is either in his hand or in a box. He has been
keeping it for almost 65 years now, even though his wife passed away around 20 years ago. Also his

wife's meaningful belongings, such as dresses, Mongolian traditional clothing otherwise called "deel",

jewelries, her awards, and letters from grandpa, are in those boxes too. He used to like collecting vintage
wooden enhanced smoking pipes, he has a collection of them. Nowadays, he collects snuff-bottles for

Mongolian cigarettes made from precious stones or metals, gold, pearls, and many more.

Even the smell of this room reminds of a Mongolian traditional ger, since the stuff is kept in one for
over 50 years. Some of them might be kept longer than that, staying from his childhood, or remaining

from his parents. His room has a colorful bed, a TV, 2 tables, a rug on the wall and a wardrobe, those are

not special from other rooms. Last but not least, he has a collection of types of alcohol, which he keeps in

one of his wooden boxes. Most of them are given by gifts. It is common to give vodkas to elders on
celebrations, including lunar new year.
