he first time I skied Aspen, way back in the mid-
T1970s, lift tickets were around $15 at this iconic
resort in the Rockies. I was a junior at the University of Colora-
do, slept in a cozy sleeping bag on the floor at a friend’s house
during that visit and ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for
lunch on the slopes. They were yummy, if I recall correctly.
