                                 “Curaçao Tourism Today and the Way Forward”





























               As I am still the new guy in the room, I look forward to getting to know all of you better, and
               to even learn from you as we collaborate to optimize the tourism potential of this wonderful
               island.

               What I’d like to do today is bring you up to date on the performance of the industry so far
               this year, and then share some thoughts on how we at the CTB propose to drive this tourism
               industry forward so we can create more durable and sustainable socio-economic growth for

               the Curaçao economy. Before I do that however, I’d like to give you a little background on
               myself, particularly for those of you who I have not yet had the privilege of meeting.

               Which brings me to today. I step into this position with the specific mandate to see through
               the strategies outlined in the Master Plan, a blueprint designed to guide the CTB on the path
               toward becoming one of the premier Caribbean destinations by the year 2020. While we are
