that freelancers from Asia usually have a lower rate. Also, those from the
Philippines mostly do a good job.
But since you have no idea of the skill level of the person you are hiring, it is
best that you ask the freelancer some samples of his previous work. This will
give you an idea about the quality of that job he can make. Also, be very
specific on your instructions so you will get the kind of output that you want.
Check the videos for errors before launching
After receiving the final output, you still need to check it over again. Take note
that your video will represent your company. Even the slightest error, a
typographical error perhaps, will potentially tarnish the image of your
company.
Watch the video and check for possible technical errors. But other than this,
you also need to check for potentially offensive contents. You need to be
careful of your use of language. You also need to be very selective of jokes.
Those that point to racism are particularly sensitive. Also, avoid possible
messages and/or implications that you might have sided to a certain opinion
which is of current interest to the public (example: regarding the legalization of
same-sex marriage).
Match the theme and atmosphere of your videos
Let us say for example that your videos are targeted to professionals,
businessmen, and other high ranking individuals. Would a childish theme
featuring cartoonish characters and bouncy cartoon music be appropriate? Of
course not. You need to match the design and theme of your videos to your
audience. This is how you keep them glued to you.
For professionals, you probably want a corporate theme that simple, concise,
and professional in appeal. For children, you want something that is fun, lively,
and colorful. For female audiences, you want something chic, feminine, and
fashionable.
