PHASE 2: COMMUNITY VISIONING OUTREACH: EYE ON INTRINSIC EQUITY
1. Conduct individual interviews/small group meetings
2. Dialogue with the arts and culture community and other non-profit organizations serving special
populations in your area. Reimagine who can be involved.
3. Identify new partners who intrinsically embody ‘voice equity’ from their personal and professional
experience and have unique access to a variety of resources, monetary and non-monetary.
4. tap into a wide range of people in the general public, through official city structure, community
meetings and committees.
5. Hire local artists to create engaging, creative-based activities that promote dialogue and are in
places, using platforms and provide support and access broadly
6. Create or align with cultural events that leverage and support creative processes to engage commu-
nity
7. Find and cultivate storytellers and stories
8. Capture ideas, visions, responses in a variety of media: seeking to include the unspoken, invisable,
a-typical, non-conforming, unusual, inconvienient
9. Use both stories and data to engage people
10. Find the ways and platforms used by audiences who are strategic to your success; in a wide range
of media; pictures, video, performances, exhibitions, public art, social media, printed materials,
presentations, events, audio recordings, Youtube videos, etc.
11. Tie project updates and outreach to good news, outcomes, overcoming obstacles.
