vintage quilt blocks, antique sewing collectibles, fabric organizers, quilting and needlework tools, and of
course quilts—from priceless antiques to fresh-as-tomorrow designs. The Festival Gallery is filled with
quilts created by premier designers. Perhaps you’ll sign up for one of the many exciting classes
or lectures. Share your new-found treasures with others over drinks and appetizers at this evening’s
complimentary Cocktail Reception. B
DAY 3 After breakfast at the hotel, it’s off to the Quilt Festival to fill your souvenir tote bag with
treasures for your own handwork projects. Choose from exotic Shibori silk ribbon, Italian tubular
ribbon, hand-painted Czech glass buttons, Ghana baskets, painted wooden buttons, hand-dyed wool
and felting kits, doll patterns, vintage fabrics, and handmade jewelry inspired by quilts. Not far from the
hotel, you’ll find a different kind of shopping at Fashion Outlets of Chicago, with lots of luxury
brand discounts. Return to the hotel tonight, and relax over drinks and appetizers at the
complimentary Cocktail Reception. B
DAY 4 Join your new friends for a panoramic Chicago city tour. Our narrated journey around the
downtown area and several of Chicago’s distinct neighborhoods will give you the inside scoop to
the history of the Windy City. Along the way, you will be able to stop at several picturesque locations
and take some wonderful photos. You’ll also enjoy the famous Chicago-style deep-dish pizza at our
Farewell Lunch at Lou Malnati’s. Malnati is the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, so you’ll get
a taste of history along with a memorable meal before departing for the airport. B L
