OBITUARY
Mackenzie Paul Allamby was born in
St. Thomas Virgin Islands, August 13, 1945 to Joseph
and Marjorie Allamby.
Paul, the youngest in the family, was still an infant
when his Mother Marjorie decided to migrate to the
United States for a better life for him and his brothers
and sisters Jerome, Carol, Michael, and Luanna in
1946.
With five mouths to feed life for them was far from
easy. The upper Eastside of Harlem had its challenges
for the family, but Paul brought something special to
community.
While him and his mother frequently visited the local
area parks, rather than play Paul brought along paper
and pencils and began to draw the scenery around
him. It wasn’t long before the family realized Paul was
a natural born artist.
At the age of three with the protection and support of
his brothers to help buy art supplies Paul was
amazingly earning a few dollars a day drawing pets for
passerby’s in the park.
