        Player Limits: Forty until Opening Day, when the number of players must be reduced to 26 until Sept. 1, when
        it becomes 28.
        Determining Batting Average: Divide the number of at-bats into the number of hits.
    MANAGERS & COACHES  innings pitched.
        Determining Earned Run Average: Multiply the number of earned runs by nine, divide the total by the number of
        Determining On-Base Percentage: Add the total of hits, walks and hit by pitches and divide by the total of at-bats,
        walks, hit by pitches and sacrifice flies.
        Determining Slugging Percentage: Divide the total bases of all hits by the total times at-bat (at-bats do not
        include walks, sacrifices, hit by pitches, or times awarded first base because of interference or obstruction).
        Determining Fielding Average: Divide the total putouts and assists by the total of putouts, assists and errors.
        Determining Winning Percentage: Divide the number of games won by the total games won and lost.
    PLAYER BIOS  Determining the Magic Number: Determine the number of games yet to be played, add one, then subtract the
        number of games ahead in the loss column of the standings of the closest opponent.
        Consecutive Game Hitting Streaks: A consecutive-game hitting streak shall not be terminated if all the player’s
        plate appearances (one or more) result in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or a sacrifice
        bunt. The streak shall terminate if the player has a sacrifice fly and no hit.
    PLAYER DEVELOPMENT  half-inning on defense, or if he completes a time at bat by reaching base or being put out.
        Consecutive Game Playing Streak: A consecutive-game playing streak shall be extended if the player plays one
        Qualifying Marks: To qualify for the batting championship, a player must have a minimum of 502 plate
        appearances. To qualify for Earned Run Average leadership, a pitcher must have at least 162 IP.
        Doctored Bat: If a filled or “doctored” bat is used, the player is to be ejected from the game and suspended
        three days. Any balls hit by an illegal bat do not count. If the umpire sees the illegal bat before it is used, he
        issues a warning, but there is no penalty.
    2017 SEASON REVIEW  conditions; 1) He’s the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club, and 2) he’s not the winning pitcher,
        Relief Pitchers’ Save Rule: A pitcher is credited with a save when he meets all three of the following

                                       INJURED LISTS
    OPPONENTS  may be placed on this list.
        10-Day Injured List: Minimum period of inactivity is 10 days. There is no limit on the number of players that
        7-DAY injured list: Introduced in the 2011 season, the 7-day disabled list was created specifically for players
        with concussion symptoms. A 7-day IL stint cannot be backdated by more than five days.
        60-Day injured List: The minimum period of inactivity is sixty (60) days. Players on or transferred to this list
        after August 1 shall remain there for the balance of the regular season and post-season. This list may be used
        only when a club is at the maximum limit of forty (40) players.
