Pedro Salas was known throughout the world as an accomplished
breeder of fine horses, an enormously successful businessman, and a
leader in both his own community and the greater one of Spain. A
charismatic, energetic, extraordinarily bright man with a quick temper
and a ready laugh… An agricultural engineer and attorney by
profession, Salas has been a president, director and shareholder in the
Salas family enterprises. In addition to horse breeding, the family was
involved in shipping, liquor distribution, retail operations, salt
manufacturing, and a number of tourist-related businesses.

Princess Marieta is exquisitely beautiful in a patrician way,
dresses with understated elegance …and appears composed in —Rob Rossi
every situation. The real Princess Marieta is many things. Shy, given to moments of intense introspection,
she is enormously proud of having recently quit biting her fingernails. She believes her strengths to be her Notes:
open mind and versatility. She quietly admits that her main fault is probably her temper, although she is
sure it has gotten better as she has matured. What Marieta does not tell you about herself is she is
enormously creative, luminously intelligent, and totally dedicated to learning at any cost. … Approachability
Princess Marieta gives being princess mixed marks: she likes the title but doesn’t like the fact that it causes
people to avoid her. “I really think that is a disadvantage … I like people and so few of them will come to talk
to me.”
