Irma Boom’s Library.
Boom drew inspiration from Maevich a Russian painter placing all
of the text are in boxes. One of the small details I think is really interesting was when starting a new paragraph Boom would bold letters to avoid having spaces between paragraphs and making it feel like a solid block of text. So, for the 87 book it was the first 7 letters and the 88 book it was the first 8. The other unconventional part was the fact that she made all of the pages on spreads and printing on both sides. The way this book was bound was in a Japanese folded style. This means that this would be a crease where the page ends. Because the paper was so thin, you were able to see the images on the inside.
