Marine Patrol
Harpswell Marine Division works on the water
and the shores of Harpswell. The Marine Patrol’s
Unit (2 Deputies) responsibilities included marine
harvester inspections, a total of 387 bushels
inspected. Shell Fish Haversting violations
resulted in 9 summonses and 8 warnings being
issued by the deputies. The team performed
several checks of coves, landings, and property.
Due to limited staffing in 2019 our patrol efforts
on Sebago Lake were limited.
Dive Team
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team is continually
prepared for any underwater emergency or investigation in, but
not limited to, the waters of Cumberland County. The Dive Team
conducted nine, eight (8) hour training sessions throughout the
year. These training sessions are designed to maintain the diver’s
underwater skills, dive equipment integrity and water craft
operation and navigation.

Emergency Services Unit
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit is a highly trained, multi-
jurisdictional team with members hailing from the Sheriff’s Office, Falmouth PD, Gorham PD, South
Portland PD, Westbrook PD, Windham PD and Cumberland Co. Regional Communications Center. The
Team includes Tactical Operators, Tactical Medics, Marksmen, Negotiators, Support Personnel and
Tactical Communications Officers. Each team member receives at minimum 240 hours of training per year.
