buoyant disposal vehicle (K-STER D). The system features a unique tilting head that carries the sensors and shaped charge (Figures 21.8 and 21.9).
21.1.3.1.3 Minesniper
Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace has completed the development of the Minesniper “one-shot” mine destructor vehicle. The Minesniper is controlled via a fiber-optic tether and can be fitted with either a shaped charge or semi-armor-piercing warhead to use against sea mines. The expendable vehicle is powered by twin rotatable thrusters that give the Minesniper the ability to rotate around its own axis. Minesnipers have been sold to the navies of Norway and Spain. It can be used from ships or helicopters.
