Philadelphia. Members of North Carolina Society were pleased that two from our ranks were elected officers of the General Society: President General Pless Lunger and Assistant Secretary General William Raiford.
Later this spring, we unveiled a new and improved website. Through the tireless efforts
of our director of administration, Margaret Park, and with guidance from our communications committee, the new website has launched with features such as links to historical resources and a searchable roster.
Of special note is the North Carolina Society’s performance in this year’s annual giving
campaign. Through energetic efforts of President Tony Maupin, Vice President Gil Baldwin, Secretary Hardin Sigmon and others, records were set for both participation and total funds raised. At the close of the campaign, 83% of our members had participated and more than $143,000 was raised. We honor our commitment to the Society’s mission through the support of the General Society and the American Revolution Institute, continued growth and enhancement of our own American Revolution Lecture Series, and grants to the Lafayette Trail project and the American Battlefield Trust.
