NEWS
Tipi Adventures
Recently we here at Tiglin organised an adventure day out in the wilderness with organisations Tipi Adventures in Rathdrum and Salesforce in Sandyford, Co Dublin. Both organisations arranged a day out in the wilderness which was at the Tipi Adventures site in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow.
Salesforce brought 21 of their employees to stay overnight with Tipi Adventures and experience what it was like to learn how to start a fire in primitive ways, water filtration, shelter and over the fire cooking. The Salesforce group were very enthusiastic and excited at
Tipi Adventures and expressed a huge interest in the wilderness and in particular in what Tipi Adventures and Tiglin are doing to help with its residents. A huge thank you to Salesforce for their ongoing support and huge thanks to Tipi Adventures for hosting Salesforce.
Dr John Latham
Dr John Latham retired this year from his medical practice at Thomas Court Primary Care Centre in Dublin. At a function in his practice, invited guests heard the resounding sound of appreciation for a man who has for many years stood in the gap for those who were marginalised and in addiction. As a former board member of Tiglin and our medical advisor he was and remains to be a huge support to Tiglin and one of the reasons as to our success. Having won GP of the year in 2018 for demonstrating professionalism, leadership and excellence in patient care we know his skills will be deeply missed by his colleagues and patients and we wish him a very happy and fruitful retirement.

Carraig Eden
After much waiting, planning and meeting it is amazing to see the much anticipated construction works commence at Carraig Eden. The renovations were given the green light and are due to be complete in late 2020. 35 en-suite units along with kitchen, and communal living areas will allow residents continue their journey in early recovery in state of the art facilities.
GARDEN
Garden of Dreams!
The transformation of the garden at Tiglin’s women’s centre has been inspiring to see. Thanks to the generosity of Jessie Kelley we have witnessed an overgrown barren piece of land become a blossoming garden filled with life. We are also delighted that Jessie’s generosity meant that we could have a classroom and garden gazebo in the garden so in both rain and sun this transformed place of pleasure can be enjoyed.
