Update from
Jigginstown
Manor
2022 at Jigginstown Manor has been a significant year for us. We welcomed our first residents in 2021 and have continued into 2022, filling all of our apartments and reaching total capacity in the latter part of the year.
A great highlight was when the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, officially opened our service on June 14th. Since then, we have welcomed a wealth of guests, many of whom are involved in the running of the state, such as Roderic O’Gorman, Minister Frank Feighan and others. In addition, we have received visits from Local Authority members, including our town’s new Mayor of Naas, Evie Sammon, councillors Colm Kenny, Bill Clear, and Seamie Moore, as well as many locals of Naas and beyond.
We continued to focus on quality improvement and building community links throughout
the year. During 2022, we introduced our

residents to several local employers and education providers, all of whom have been extremely helpful by giving them an opportunity. Our residents have also become active members of the Naas community and have engaged in several volunteering organisations, trying to “give back” in the summer months. Our residents have enjoyed several barbecues and a Sailing into Wellness boat trip, while also being granted a complimentary gym membership for K Leisure in Naas.
In 2022, we hosted many professional development events, such as seminars on cooking, budgeting, self-perception, health and well-being, and third-level entry workshops. Additionally, some of our residents availed of professional counselling sessions. Throughout this year, the sense of community within Jigginstown has grown and the relationships between residents and staff have flourished.
In summary, we have endeavoured to build a vibrant community in the heart of Naas, Co. Kildare. We have also made great friends who are most helpful and wish to see our residents “get the start in life they truly deserve”.
