GENERAL HOSPITAL FEEDING PROGREM
Understanding the effects of poverty in Haiti coupled with a poor healthcare system, Tzu Chi
Foundation, through local volunteers, for some years now, is committed to preparing food for
patients and staff at the General Hospital multiple times a week. The Tzu Chi Feeding Program at
Haiti General Hospital in Port-au-Prince prepares food, donated from Taiwan, at least three days
every week for all patients in the hospital and the staff who care for them. Our local volunteers
even go the extra mile to feed patients who are not able to feed themselves. In addition to the
relief provided to patients and staff, local volunteers also give compassionate support to the sick,
which for many patients is the only company they experience apart from staff contact.
