Quantitative Data Analysis
                                              Simply Explained Using SPSS

is not worth it. The time you spent conducting the experiment only
to have it declared obsolete because the right statistical test wasn’t
conducted would be a waste of time and resources, statistical tests
should be used correctly for this reason.

               Note:

ANOVA is a generalize form which can also be used for
two group. In a two group case, statistical conclusion
would be identical for t-test and ANOVA.
                                  2
                                 T test statistics = F statistics

                        ANOVA Calculation – Therapy Example

The table to the right shows fictional data from an experiment in
which there were three treatments (A, B, and C) for patients with
psychological disorders. The dependent variable was the number of
psychotic episodes each patient had during the therapy period. Are
there significant differences in the number of psychotic episodes
               among the therapy treatments?

                           A B C
                          5 4 7
                          4 3 9
                          6 2 5
                          2 1 8
                          5 5 6
