P. 1
Lasting power of attorney
This enables you to nominate someone – who will be known as
your ‘attorney’ – to manage your finances or make decisions
about your health and care if you can’t do it yourself. A lasting
power of attorney is completely separate from a will, as it deals
with decisions during your lifetime.
This can give you the peace of mind of knowing you will be
protected and your wishes will be followed in the future – even if
you lose the ability to make decisions for yourself.
There are two types of lasting power of attorney:
1. Health and welfare
2. Property and financial affairs
You can choose to make one type or both types.
