Feast day
Our Lady of the

The Vincentian family was
on full blast during the feast
of Our Lady of the Miraculous
Medal which was celebrated
on 27th day of November 2018.
The day after was the feast day
of St. Catherine Laboure, DC.
Needless to say, the community
of the Daughters of Charity
were very busy during those
times, taking into account
that they were the front liners
in promoting the Miraculous
Medal. Likewise, the Miraculous
Medal apostolate was busy
distributing medals, religious
items and pamphlets as a way of
commitment in spreading the
Miraculous Medal devotion.
In line with this, the Vincentian
Seminarians conducted
activities in solidarity with our
grand Marian devotion and
festive celebration, wherein we
had our humble yet productive
activities. Spearheaded by the
Spiritual Ministry, we had a
week long Marian Exhibit which
was also in line with the mission
of the Congregation to spread
and promote devotion to our
Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
Despite the limited resources,
they were able to provide and
display exquisite painting
collections of Our Lady, and
masterpieces for the image of

the three apparitions of the
blessed Virgin to St. Catherine forget the highlight of our
Laboure and the wide variety of celebration where we had our
the collection of the medals.
On the other hand, we had
a Poem to Mary contest which
was displayed to the public,
inside the Santuario Parish
and later in SVS hallway. The
judging process was for the
public to cast their votes by
giving some amount of money
to their chosen piece which they
think were the best. At the end,
the one which gained the largest
amount wins. The winner for
the poem to Mary contest was
Sem. Orlando Estor. Likewise a
special award was given to Sem.
Bernard Balberan whose entry
was entitled to be featured in
of
Papag, SVST school publication.
In addition, we also had a
Marian story making contest
which was basically an essay
about their encounter with
Mother Mary on their journey
as seminarians. The contest
was won by Sem. Marvin
Manimtim. The awarding of
both contests came late due
to prior commitment and
schedules. Nonetheless, the
awarding paved the way to
recognize and hone talents of
the SVS seminarians.
And of course, we will never
daily Novena Masses in honor of
Our Lady of Miraculous Medal
at Santuario of San Vicente De
Paul. The whole big event was
culminated by a procession
from Santuario to Tandang
Sora Market and back to the
seminary.
