Applying Rubric D - What exactly to look for
This example will focus on criteria 1 only We start with a checklist of the items that should be included

   EVIDENCE TO LOOK FOR
   1 Context established
  Statement that includes:
a) background to the issue
b) any details that establishes the setting (dates,
prior significant events, new policies/practices, etc.) c) the parameters and boundaries of the issue
   2 Evidence of procedure used to select stimuli
  d) Process used to select material
e) Identification of materials selected—title, nature
(expository/argumentative), type (print/non-print)
f) Statement of the contexts from which they were derived
(i e where was the material found) g) Reasons for selection
   3 Relevance of stimuli to topic
 h) How are the stimuli relevant?
i) What does the stimuli say about the theme? j) How is it connected to the theme?
k) What is appealing about the stimulus?
l) Identify the effectiveness of its artistic/visual/literary/aural
features (such as language, image, and rhythm)
m) Explain the effectiveness of its artistic/visual/literary/aural
features (such as language, image, and rhythm)
   4 Required number of pieces (of stimuli) considered
  n) AT LEAST THREE pieces must be considered
o) AT LEAST ONE of the pieces must be print
p) All items must be included/embedded in the portfolio
in a manner that allows for them to be retrieved/viewed/
inspected
q) Each item must appear in the reference
   5 All relevant tasks attempted
   The relevant tasks are:
