Booth Western Art Museum
At this Smithsonian Affiliate Museum,
students will learn through an
interactive exploration of American
Indian art and artifacts. Your students
will explore a map to determine the
movement pattern of American Indians
over the course of time and will
compare and contrast the various
environmental strengths and
challenges. Through economic
principles of trade and voluntary
Booth Western Art Museum exchange, students will learn how American Indians continue to contribute to American
culture and life.
Etowah Indian Mounds
Your students will gain a better understanding of the history of the Etowah Indians, as Park
Rangers take them through a walking tour of the Etowah Indian Mounds. Discover the daily
lives, including the traditions and hardships faced by this proud people, during your visit.
Tellus Science Center
3rd Grade GSE : S3E1(a), S3E1(b), S3E1(c) or S3E2(a),
S3E2(b)
At the Tellus Science Center, a Smithsonian Affiliate
Museum, 3rd grade teachers will have their choice of
program that aligns with GSE standards. Program options
are: Fossiliferous, Let's Rock and Roll, Mineral Testing, and
CSI: Classroom Soil Investigation. Students will be taken
through a 4 station rotation to include a laboratory
experience, an activity, a self-guided tour of the appropriate
exhibit, and a self-guided tour of the museum store.
