My Toddler Sense journey so far!

Well, where to begin? I guess with my name! I’m Micaela and I have
recently taken over the wonderful Toddler Sense classes in Guildford,
Godalming and Haslemere, and been a part of mummies club for a
couple of months now! Toddler Sense is part of the WOW World
group which includes other programmes like the well-known, Baby
Sensory classes, along with Mini Professors, Reading Fairy and Keep a
Beat. Both Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense were founded and
designed by the amazing Dr. Lin Day! She has such a wealth of
knowledge, it’s so inspiring. I had the pleasure of meeting her when I
did my training, and she’s one of those people that just oozes passion.
That was one of the moments I knew I had made the right decision to
                               take on this wonderful adventure!

                                                 What did I do previously?

When I saw that the Toddler Sense Guildford franchise was up for sale, I was actually working as a
Nanny in Guildford. I had started working with children about 5/6 years ago and I never looked back!
I never thought I would learn as much from them as they do from me. Every day is a joy, as well as a
challenge, when working with children and I wouldn’t do anything different. I first started working in
Nurseries and worked my way up to be a Room Manager of both a baby room and then the toddler
room. This is where all my knowledge has stemmed from; I completed my NVQ level 3 and my Early
Years Degree all while working full time and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of. I then decided
I wanted to try a different aspect of childcare and became a Nanny for a lovely family with a 1 year
old and a 6-year-old at the time. I formed such an amazing bond with them and loved having the
time to really work on their development. However, I felt I needed something more, I wanted to
have a bigger challenge, something to really push me, especially as I wasn’t studying anymore! When
nannying we attended Baby Sensory classes in Guildford, and it was the highlight of our week! This
was part of the reason I jumped at the chance of doing the Toddler Sense classes. I could tell from
the very first Baby Sensory class that this company knows what they’re talking about, I was hearing
and seeing things I’d learned about at university, and that I’d seen and done with the children at
nursery. I know now that this is because of Dr. Lin Day’s research and the way she’s designed each
activity and how they fit together. So, when I saw the advert for the sale of the franchise on
Facebook, I knew this was the next step I was looking for!
                                                                   What is Toddler Sense?

For those who haven’t heard of Toddler Sense, or are still
attending Baby Sensory and are thinking about that next
step, let me explain the amazing Toddler Sense programme.
Toddler Sense is the perfect follow on programme from Baby
Sensory up until they go to school! The activities are still
meticulously planned and researched but with an emphasis
on getting the toddlers fit and active, as we all know they’re
impossible to pin down. This is what a lot of parents say
when they come to their first Toddler Sense session that they
needed something a little more fast paced to keep them
