Many machines make a lot of noise and as a mechanical
engineer you may be asked to perform noise measure
measurement. Consider a coal grinding machine.
The finer the coal powder, the more efficient the burn –
the higher the temperature.
Needed at coal power electricity power stations (kibble).
These machines and extremely noisy. Noise measurements
are necessary for health and safety reasons.
When such machines are operating, they generate high
levels of noise which induce vibrations in the machine’s
components.
