If you need more measurement sources, just add more
modules to the CompactDAQ chassis.
You can now see how the NI instruments offer greater
flexibility than a single spectrum analyser.
Strain Gauges for measuring vibrations
∝ as the strain guage is
stretched (strained) its electrical
resistance will change.
Use an epoxy resin to attach the
strain gauge to the vibrating
surface.
Make the strain gauge as part of a Wheatstone Bridge.
Adjust the resistance values
so that the bridge is
balanced when the strain
gauge is at rest.
Once the strain gauge is
strained a voltage V will generated and can be measured.
The voltage is proportional to the strain.
