Synergy
We’ve all heard the terms “beauty squad”, “creative collab”, etc., but have you ever wondered what that actually entails? How do creatives find other creatives to produce a solid campaign or product? The art of collaboration can be tricky to navigate, but if done correctly it can produce magnificent, jaw-dropping, creatively-fueled projects that both emit emotion and bring in the dollars.
Collaboration is about bringing together equal partners who share a similar vision and contribute their strengths to create something bigger than one person can produce on their own. It’s larger than the sum of its parts, and requires a lot of communication, inspiration, and clear direction... not to mention sidestepping the egos. A well executed collaborative effort is more than an industry standard, it’s also a source of inspiration. So....where do you start? If you are directing the shoot, as in, this project is your baby, here are a few tips to put together a creative squad:
