When calling for assistance consider each of the following:
• The service you require (Police / Fire / Ambulance)
• The location of the incident (Address/cross street)
• The age, sex and condition of the casualty.
AIRWAY
Clear and Open the Airway...
The next step is to ensure that air (more importantly Oxygen) is reaching the casualty’s lungs. To do this we follow the three-step process listed below:
1. Clearing the airway
Open the airway and visually check inside the casualty’s mouth for any foreign bodies or excess fluid. If there is anything inside the mouth then you must remove it.
