Taking a SAMPLE History
When taking a history from the casualty it’s often hard to remember all the questions that you need to ask the casualty. By following a simple acronym of SAMPLE you cam ensure that you get all the information that is required.
The SAMPLE acronym stands for Signs and Symptoms
Allergies
Medications
Past / Present Illness Last Meal
Events (what happened)
Answers to the questions asked during a sample survey can easily be recorded on the back of your gloves or in a notebook
