• Were the roles and responsibilities clear for the staff members involved? What improvements could be made here?
• Were the First Aiders given the appropriate training to manage this incident?
• Identify any training gaps or needs.
• Did the First Aiders work within the limitations of their
training?
Offer counseling to first responders and bystanders where additional support is needed.
When conducting debriefings it is important to consider any current or future psychological impacts to first responders/bystanders and refer individuals who require additional support to appropriate allied health professionals (e.g. psychologist)
