Family
my life and be able to fit into theirs.
When the knit is tight, expansion occurs. You never
know who may become a member of your family to- morrow. For example, through one person I had known since I was a teen I connected with another. Through that connection, I embarked on a journey of healing and life-changing events. I have seen a level of acceptance and support I never thought existed. Not to mention the continuous fun and laughter that comes with calling a professional comedian my brother. What a great expan- sion!!! Then from there to acting and learning the pro- cess of film production which brought more fun, support and people into my family. Just when I think it couldn’t get better I’m invited into yet another family to be a part of a brand new journey of being a writer. I never once thought 5 years ago I would be advocating, working in entertainment and writing for a magazine today. It’s great!
Since I consider my friends and colleagues family my wealth by far surpasses any billionaire who has no one to laugh with. I couldn’t imagine not having every one of these awesome people in my life. Even those I have never met in person. It was just a few days ago that my mind went blank and I couldn’t put any words to paper. I got a great piece of advice. She said maybe you’re writing is blocked because there is negativity in what you want to write. Take the negative and replace it with something positive. What’s more positive than family.
Always take the time to appreciate your family. Nev- er hold back when it comes to caring for people. Keep an open heart and mind. Be the same pillar for others that you wish them to be for you. Support them, encour- age them and love them. Cherish the time you have with them because your clock can stop at any moment. Let no distance keep you from being the smile they might need to get through a horrendous day. You never know when it could be your day that is in need of change and improvement.

Family is is the pillar of life. No matter the relation it’s the bond that gives definition to the word. We all have traditional family members and a lot of us have the brother from another mother or a sister from another mister and each member is the piece to each family that makes each one unique.
I am proud to say that there is nothing more import- ant to me than my family. In my family, we don’t know or even recognize the term step. My dad’s wife is my mom and her daughters are my sisters. The great peo- ple in my life that would be considered my friends are my brothers and sisters. We laugh together, we cry to- gether, we hang out together and we work together.
It is essential to having a good quality of life that we have people that support our ideas and dreams. People that accept you for you and no matter how outlandish your goals may seem to them, they look at you and say you got this and I believe in you.
From birth, I have been fortunate enough to have seen togetherness. Family reunions, birthday parties, wed- dings, casual dinners, and sporting events have shown me the importance of maintaining closeness with those around you. It has taught me how to accept people into 48 Provokeusmag.com
