I moved one step back and said, “I was dating him,” I looked over at Weston who was on his back and seemed to be talking to the officers who had him cuffed in the front while his upper back and head were propped up. It was then I heard more sirens in the distance. Help is on the way, Weston.
“Miss, did you hear me?” the officer asked. “No.” I turned and looked back at him, “What did you say?” I inquired sharply. I couldn’t focus at all. I was out- side of myself and my spirit was running wild, but my mind was frozen in confusion.
“Your head is bleeding, and you should probably be checked when the paramedics arrive. Are you sure your phone is in the vehicle? You can use mine while I go search for yours.” He said it as if knowing I was fragile. Once he stated that, we looked into each other’s eyes and I felt my head twitch to the side as I worked to get my mouth to work, “My head is bleed- ing, you say?”
“Yes, miss.” He responded. Right as he stuck his hand out towards me, everything went black.
