A visit to drummer Todd Taylor in California became another turning point. Taylor,
studying at the Drum Institute in Hollywood, shared an apartment with David Huff,
brother of guitarist Dan Huff. Dan Huff had played on Michael Jackson’s recordings;
David Huff was the longtime drummer for Michael W. Smith. Being surrounded by
musicians who bridged faith and mainstream excellence confirmed to Grafton that he
was called to unite both worlds — sacred and secular — into one prophetic sound.

Twelve Years Under the Wonder
That revelation led him west, where destiny opened a door few ever experience — a
twelve-year journey with Stevland Morris Productions with music legend Stevie Wonder
and his organization. Within that creative orbit, Grafton learned the disciplines of
production, performance, and radio promotion, gaining an inside view of artistry at the
highest level. He collaborated with Kimberly Brewer (renowned recording artist and
Stevie’s background vocalist), recorded jingles under Steve Moore Productions in
Burbank for Nate Watts (Stevie’s bassist and music director), and built relationships
with figures such as Jay King of Club Nouveau (now manager of Cameo) an early
Motown legends Holland, Dozier Holland
