Process
MATERIALS NEEDED
• Prepare for the Post-Obs. Conference:
- Develop Questions to assist the teacher in self-analysis and reflection on the
lesson
- Organize your observation notes
- Revisit the teacher’s year-long goals
- Give the Mirror to the teacher to fill it in before the meeting
- Review the pre-observation data sheet (Mirror) before the meeting
• Post Observation Conference:
- This step focuses on student learning. All evidence or data you have
collected is subject to interpretation, therefore must be discussed with
the teacher.
- Timing: Must occur within 2 working days.
- Let the teacher do the talking. You ask questions and allow the teacher to
reflect and self-analyze. (use the Mirror)
- Make teacher aware of what will be in your final report.
- List of questions to guide your discussion with the teacher
- Observation notes - Mirror
- Schedule log
5. Finalize the Written Report:
- Done ONLY after enough data is gathered.
- Teacher should receive a copy of the report to sign.
- It is your responsibility to give recommendations but supported with
evidence.
- Final report (Formal
observation)
6. Follow up on the recommendations:
- Agree with the teacher on a timeline to work on the recommendations.
- Schedule a Mini-observation for follow up or another formal
observation if needed.
- Schedule log
Product:
• Final Evaluation report
• Renew Contract/ Annual Increment
• Place teachers in the different categories of follow up (Intensive Support- Focused Support-
Proficient- Exemplary)
• Finalize the Written Report
