        Teacher Evaluation Process

    STEPS
   MATERIALS NEEDED
  1. Plan
• Identify major/minor domains for each teacher. Refer to the last evaluations
• Create your schedule log, place blocks of time in your calendar to be used for conferences and observations

  2. Staff meeting to explain process(induction)
• Schedule enough time for your input and staff’s questions
• Share with teachers all the forms that will be used for evaluation of
performance in a meeting at the beginning of the school year (during Orientation)

  3. Self-evaluation and Goal setting
1. Teachers do the self-evaluation in the designated domains and fill out the goal sheet
2. Schedule a meeting with the teacher for Goal Setting
3. This essential step creates the foundation for the teacher’s self-
direction, and goals to achieve during the year
4. Evaluate goals achieved at the end of each term.
5. Goals setting will be related to school Development Plan.

 4. Learning Walks • Learning walk -Prior the formal observation teachers will receive a constructive feedback forms
  5. Formal observation
• Pre-observation: Have a pre-observation conference with the teacher.
Since scheduling is difficult, prioritize this step. Do not avoid this step with teachers who need help with planning for success. Some experienced teachers need only the planning record and a short chat with you before the observation.
• Observation/ data gathering: Inform the teacher ahead of time if it is announced and make sure to mention the number of visitors will be attending the lesson.
After the observation, provide a “quick response” to the teacher in the form of a note, email, or chat.
