The Wushu club was first established in 1991 as the Pugilistic and Lion Dance Troupe,
before becoming a full fledged independent club in 2003. Holding activities that strive
to promote the ancient arts, the club is a long-standing member of the Cultural Activities
Club in NTU.
Our club strives to promote the art of Wushu as a cultivated form of cultural sport that
seeks to preserve and ensure an unique ancient martial art. We have performed and
competed in several Wushu competitions, representing NTU at the tertiary level and
even scaling the nationals. The annual Invitational Traditional Wushu Championship
and festive performances during periods like the Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn
Festival are just some examples of our events.
Through these events, our members will be able to learn various martial art techniques
and develop their proficiency in the usage of key martial arts weapons. As such,
regardless of the level of exposure, our club welcomes members who are open and
willing to learn or hone their skills, thus reaching a new peak in their tertiary lives.
