New terminal at Lima to open on June 1st

Lima Airport Partners (LAP) and
the Peruvian Ministry of Transport &
Communications have confirmed that the
new US$2 billion terminal at Jorge Chavez
International Airport will open at 12:00
midday on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
After several delays, the Transport
Ministry has announced that operational
testing is complete.
The airport manager also confirmed
that a “soft launch” is taking place with
selected passenger services during the last
two weeks in May.
The new 275,000 sqm terminal is
three times bigger than the current 90,000
sqm terminal and increases the capacity
of the airport to more than 30 million
passengers per year, with a possibility
to increase to 40 million, if passenger
volumes grow further. Last year Lima
posted passenger traffic of 25 million A passenger at the new terminal at Jorge Chavez International Airport
passengers. on May 15 for the first flight at the new terminal from Buenos Aires on
Aerlineas Argentinas.
