Redaction: We Shall Live in His Sight

           MATTHEW              MARK              LUKE               JOHN

                                   - A Ransom for Many -

                        Matt 19:16-20:28 • Mark 10:17-45 • Luke 18:18-34 • John
       -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
             ¶ And when he was gone forth into the way, • behold, • there came one running, • a certain
       ruler • and kneeled to him, and asked him, • saying, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may
       {have / inherit} eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? • [T]here is none good

       {but / save} one, that is, God. [B]ut if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto
       him, Which? Jesus said, Thou knowest the commandments, Thou shalt do no murder, {Thou shalt / Do}
       not commit adultery, • {Thou shalt / Do} not steal, • {Thou shalt / Do} not bear false witness, Defraud not,
       • Honor thy father and thy mother: [A]nd, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man •

       answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I {observed / kept} from my youth up: [W]hat lack I
       yet? • Now when Jesus heard these things, • beholding him loved him, and said unto him, • [Y]et • [o]ne
       thing thou lackest: • Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, • go thy way, • and sell {that /
       whatsoever / all that} thou hast, and {distribute / give} to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in
       heaven: [A]nd come, take up the cross, and follow me. • But when the young man heard that saying, •

       he was sad at that saying, [a]nd and went away {grieved / sorrowful}: [F]or he had great possessions. •
       [F]or he was very rich.
       -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
             ¶ And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, • Jesus looked round about, • [t]hen said
       Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of

       heaven. • How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were
       astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for
       them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! • And again I say unto you, It is easier for a
       camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his

       disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, • And they were astonished out of measure, saying
       among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them • beheld them, and said unto
       them, • The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. • With men this is impossible;
