ROI+ SERVICE BULLETIN 03-21-2017 Prior Requests Alert
PROBLEM:
Identifying prior requests for a given patient’s records
DETAILS:
Duplicate requests for patient records are defined as the same requested information for the same patient from the same Requestor.
ROI+ clients have expressed the need for a tool to assist in confirming “duplicate requests.” However, due to the many variations in how a single Requestor’s information is entered into ROI+ by Provider-clients, the system has no way to reliably identify duplicate requests.
We determined that it would be helpful to generate an alert during the Log New ROI Request process to notify users that one or more recent requests were processed for the patient. These prior requests can be reviewed to determine if the current request is a duplicate.
NEW SOLUTION:
To help users who are concerned about identifying duplicate requests prior to processing a new request, we have added a new tool to the Log New ROI Request screen.
NOTE: This alert does NOT identify a request as a duplicate. Instead, this alert shows you the recent request history (past 30 days) for a patient’s medical records.
Step 1. On the Log New ROI Request screen, select the correct patient in the Patient Name field. If that patient has had any prior requests logged into the system in the past 30 days, an alert box will appear, providing you with the date each prior request was logged and the name of the Requestor.
Step 2 (optional). If you suspect that your current request might be a duplicate of one of the requests listed in the alert and you would like to investigate further, return to the Results screen by clicking Exit Without Saving.
