       Consumers can appeal before the authorities if not satisfied with order
       a. Before State commission - Appeal can be made against the order of district

            forum within a period of 30 days, Subject to deposit a 50% of the amount awarded
            or Rs. 25,000 whichever is less
       b. Before National commission - Appeal can be made against the order of state
            commission within a period of 30 days, Subject to deposit a 50% of the amount
            awarded or Rs. 35,000 whichever is less
       c. Before Supreme Court - Appeal can be made against the order of National
            commission within a period of 30 days, Subject to deposit a 50% of the amount
            awarded or Rs. 50,000 whichever is less

       The district forum, the state commission or the national commission shall not admit
       a complaint unless it is filed within two years from the date of which the cause of
       action has arisen.

       Ans. A best practice survey was carried out by CII Communication and Awareness

              working group. These best practices have been circulated amongst the
              insurance companies for their reference and for rating in terms of importance.

              The best practice questionnaire was sent to all General Insurance practitioners,
              of which only 40% had responded. There are some of the results noticed:
              (i) Enhancement of adequate training facilities of agents,
              (ii) Use of technology,
              (iii) Reduction of post sales dissonance by providing clarity of information ,

                     grievance redressal system and service delivery against TATs.
