preexisting conditions your claim may be rejected. Before filing the doctors report
carefully go through the contents and see that it is not covered under exclusions.
8. Don't forget to give the notice of the claim to company.
9. You are protected by IRDA's Policy holder Protection regulation 2002. After you
have submitted the complete documents as required by the insurance company,
they are bound to settle the claim or reject the claim within a period of 30 days. If
they delay in payment of claim which is accepted by insured they will be liable to
pay interest @2% above the bank rate.
10. You may complain to Insurance Ombudsman if the Insurance Company delays the
payment of claim.
11. You can also approach the Grievance Cell of IRDA for lodging complaint against
insurance companies.
