Police Scotland should also be informed that the child has sought refuge and be provided with relevant information. This will ensure that time is not wasted in searching should the child be reported missing. Consideration should be given to holding a meeting with the child and family within a period of 3 days. This meeting should consider the assessment of risk and confirm future arrangements through the child’s plan. Early consideration will be given to informing the Children’s Reporter of the circumstances in the event that other statutory measures may be required.
