5 Inflaming yourselves with gods under 15
every green tree, For thus says the High and Lofty One
Slaying the children in the valleys, Who inhabits eternity, whose name is
Holy:
Under the clefts of the rocks?
6 Among the smooth stones of the stream “I dwell in the high and holy place,
Is your portion; With him who has a contrite and
humble spirit,
They, they, are your lot! To revive the spirit of the humble,
Even to them you have poured a drink And to revive the heart of the contrite
offering,

You have offered a grain offering. 16 For I will not contend forever,
Should I receive comfort in these?
Nor will I always be angry;
7 “On a lofty and high mountain For the spirit would fail before Me,
You have set your bed; And the souls which I have made.

8 Also behind the doors and their posts I hid and was angry,
You have set up your remembrance; And he went on backsliding in the way

9 You went to the king with ointment, Peace, peace to him who is far off and
to him who is near,”
And increased your perfumes; Says the LORD,
You sent your messengers far off, “And I will heal him.”
And even descended to Sheol.
20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea,
10 You are wearied in the length of
your way; When it cannot rest,
Yet you did not say, ‘There is no hope.’ Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
You have found the life of your hand; 21 “There is no peace,”
Therefore you were not grieved. Says my God, “for the wicked.”
11 “And of whom have you been afraid, “Cry aloud, spare not;
or feared, 58 Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
That you have lied Tell My people their transgression,
And not remembered Me, And the house of Jacob their sins.
Nor taken it to your heart? 2 Yet they seek Me daily,
Is it not because I have held My peace And delight to know My ways,
from of old As a nation that did righteousness,
That you do not fear Me? And did not forsake the ordinance of

And your works, They ask of Me the ordinances of
