5 What will you do in the appointed day, Give them a miscarrying womb
And in the day of the feast of the LORD? And dry breasts!
For indeed they are gone because 15 “All their wickedness is in Gilgal,

Egypt shall gather them up; For there I hated them.
Memphis shall bury them. Because of the evil of their deeds
Nettles shall possess their valuables I will drive them from My house;
of silver; I will love them no more.
Thorns shall be in their tents. All their princes are rebellious.

Ephraim is stricken,
7 The days of punishment have come; Their root is dried up;
The days of recompense have come. They shall bear no fruit.
Israel knows! Yes, were they to bear children,
The prophet is a fool, I would kill the darlings of their womb.”
The spiritual man is insane,
Because of the greatness of your 17 My God will cast them away,

9:7,8 The prophets were God’s inspired mes- 2 Their heart is divided;

Israel considered them fools and madmen. He will break down their altars;
He will ruin their sacred pillars.
For now they say,

9 They are deeply corrupted, “We have no king,

4 They have spoken words,
