                                                                                    DECEMBER 23
                        And a taunting riddle against him,   18  “What profit is the image, that its maker
                           and say,                              should carve it,

                        That the peoples labor to feed the fire,  And there His power was hidden.

                        With the knowledge of the glory     6  He stood and measured the earth;
                           of the LORD,
                        As the waters cover the sea.           He looked and startled the nations.
                                                               And the everlasting mountains were
                     15  “Woe to him who gives drink to his      scattered,
                           neighbor,                           The perpetual hills bowed.
                        Pressing him to your bottle,           His ways are everlasting.
                        Even to make him drunk,             7  I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction;
